We work hard to present terrific concerts at low prices, but we need help to keep our ticket prices down and to start new programs. We are a small organization, and donations from individuals make a significant difference to us. Over a quarter of our budget comes from cash and in-kind donations.
Please consider making a donation to IMT. Even the smallest donation is a big help.
You can make a donation at any concert. Donation forms can be found on the seats or at the CD table.
You can also make a contribution online at any time in any amount. Just click below and select "Donation to IMT" on the shopping cart page, then enter the number of dollars you wish to contribute as the quantity. We do not add a service charge to any online order that includes a donation of $5 or more.
Donations support IMT's general operations unless the donor specifies otherwise. Please contact our executive director, Kent Murray, at 703 304-6157 or office@imtfolk.org for more information or to discuss a targeted donation, a large donation or a bequest.
The Institute of Musical Traditions is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Financial contributions to IMT are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law (Federal ID 52-1737962). IMT does not provide any benefit to donors in return for contributions.
IMT makes three special appeals for donations. We make a year-end appeal in November and December, as everyone is considering their tax deductions. At the start of the fall and winter/spring seasons, we make our grass-roots appeal. And we accept donations of items or services for our silent auction throughout the year.
Of course, we welcome any donation, large or small, at any time.
